The Death of the Consoles

After seeing E3 on tv, I must say that consoles have lost their quality and are raising their prices. After reviewing the screenshots of '05, I am not impressed with the consoles at all. The PS3 has been ruinned by a sudden change in its controller's shape. The Revolution is going to be sold in Spring '06, leaving just a handful of months for developers to create games, which would result with rushed games, or no games at all. And the best of the three, the XBOX 360 is also a wreck, but it suffers from a problem which is common to all three consoles. I would like to call it "graphical deficiency." "Graphical Deficiency" is a common ailment of consoles, when graphics lack luster, and are worse than the computer. The graphics of a newly shown E3 console have always been THE NEXT LEVEL of graphics. However, as the lifetime of the console drags onward, the console suffers from GRAPHICAL DEFICIENCY. The epidemic of consoles usually strikes late in a consoles life. But this year, I predict that it will strike, not in 2 years, but in less than a single year. The graphics shown at E3 look similar to graphics found on a CURRENT tricked out PC. These new consoles will become obsolete just a few months after they are released. (In the Revolution's case, I believe that it will die out almost immediately.) The PC will, in an estimated decade, take over the entire gaming industry, and destroy the empires of the consoles. Atari was once a firm force in gaming. Then their foothold on the industry broke. Sega was the second to fall, mainly because of Nintendo. Soon Nintendo will topple, because Playstation and XBOX. Next, Playstation and XBOX will be destroyed by the PC. The console industry is over.

What's the alternative to consoles? Nothing yet, your computer? Consoles will continue to sell and out pace the likes of movie sales. Yes the higher prices due to more hardware packed into a box will drive some away, but another console market will pick them up.
