Gamertag Changes for Original Subscribers Can't Post
Some Xbox Live subscribers may have been asked to change their Gamertags. The reason is due to integration issues with new publishing partners, and to support the next generation of Xbox Live gaming. Xbox Live can longer support Gamertags that are only a space different than another tag. This issue was addressed long ago, but there are still a small number of similar Gamertags to force Microsoft to change. Stats and friends lists will not change, and those required to switch, will be provided with a free 12 month subscription.

Call 1.800.4MY.XBOX and let the Xbox customer service rep know that you’re required to change your Gamertag and would like the free offer.
