Halo 2. there is not another game that gives you chills down your spine when you say the title. Never has a game had this kind of hype and expectations. Many people said that the expectations where to high and the hype was to much. But was it? In my opinion and about 3 million other peoples opinion is that it lived up to that hype and passed it with flying colors. So why do many people say that GTA: St. Andreas is a better game? Well if you do say this then I have this little fact for you, GTA made 115 million dollars in a week......good, but Halo 2 made 125 million dollars in a day.......absolutely amazing. I think the thing that attracts people most to this game and the previous one before it (Halo 1) is not just the great storyline, great guns, vehicles, enemies, online play, etc. It is the amazing entertainment of throwing a plasma grenade into a bunch of covenant then to continuing to flank the others while your soldiers clean up the stragglers. Also you got to admit, whether you are a Halo fan or not, that oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh is the most amazing and recognizable sound to ever be heard in a videogame. The thing I love most about Halo 2 is that it brings the fun from Halo 1 into the game, but times it by 10. There are also many new features in Halo 2, such as the ability to duel wield, being able to steal a vehicle from your enemies or your friends while they are moving, and heat seeking missiles, just to name a few. After you finish the campaign mode (which really is amazing, but I don’t want to spoil the story) there is a bunch of other things you can do. Such as the online play, the fun of you and your buddies getting in all sorts of vehicles and attacking your friends base, trying to penetrate it to get to there flag, and when you finally get their flag the challenge of running away while bullets and rockets are zooming by your head is priceless. Even if you don’t have Xbox Live you can split screen with up to four players. Now while this is not as entreating as Xbox live it does have its advantages, they are being able to see the personal you are playing and look on their face when you somehow snipe them while they are in the "perfect spot", the ability to bragging rights around the people you normally see everyday, but my personal favorite is the victory dance that you do after you end your friends killing spree with a rocket demolishing the warthog he has been in for 3 hours. So, in conclusion me and many other people would probably agree that this is the greatest game ever made. There once was a line in a videogame magazine that stated Rockstar saying "Halo 2 will never come out, its going to be just like Halo 1.5" and "if the game does come out it will be the greatest game ever to be seen, but of course no such thing can be done." They were also stated saying that Bungie could never put all of things in Halo 2 that they say will be on the game and have it done by November 9." In Halo 2's commercial they show all of the stuff in the game and at the very end they say "To all those you said this day would never come, what are they to say now."

Thanks for the great review. HALO has definately been the saving game for Xbox, it has truly redefined FPS games.

 Biagianti here, First off, yes Halo2 does give you the chills
when you hear that name, however... IS IT THE GREATEST GAME EVER?
Absolutley Not! Don't get me wrong, though I am one of the biggest Halo
players and fans that this world has to offer. I have played through
both Halo 1 and Halo 2's campaigns more times than however many hours
of xbox you play a week. I love both games to death, however Halo2 is
not the gretest game ever made. I am a very picky little bastard when
it comes to graphical quality. Call me a graphics pussy if you want,
however I have noticed way too many pop in during the cutscenes (for
those newabies, Pop in is where stuff like backgrounds, ships,
characters, weapons, whatever appears out of nowhere to fit the screen
intended) and there are numerous glitches during gameplay. For instance
Brutes may be running into walls, thus for an easy kill, Jackles may
appear in and out of thin air, the sound effects may skip every now and
then, and many other countless annoyances that I didn't have room for.
Just those events and little gaffes causes myself and others
frustration. It seems like when somthing truely spectacular occurs and
is truley one for the ages during gameplay, another one of these
annoyances occurs and causes frustration. Now someone out there tell me
that this isn't just me and my copy of Halo 2, I'm sure as hell that
many other of you Halo 2 players out there have had this occur more
than once. One thing I should add is that, nothing like this happened
in the original Halo, maybe in a blue moon, but not as frequent as Halo
2. All in all you're review is accurate and well done, there are just
some problems with Halo 2 that keep it from truely being the greatest
game ever...

I'd be willing to suggest that it's the best Xbox game ever, best game ever is a stretch.
