Xbox Handheld Coming to Market?

Will Microsoft attempt to enter the lucrative handheld gaming market? There are rumors it's in the making over at Microsoft, but when can we expect to see it? IGN suggests the long-rumored handheld won't be announced or make an appearance in 2005. With Xbox 2 the hot topic for the year, Microsoft can't afford to split exposure with a handheld launch, they need all the attentino to prop up Xbox 2. Just because there's silence from MS on the "Xboy," however, doesn't mean it won't come to be. The Xboy will likely happen in 2006 or 2007 with extensive interactivity with Xbox 2.

Dunno about this, remember it's microsoft behind the game, they have tons of pocket pc's they can outfit for games.... maybe if xbox 360 takes off and xbox gets ahold of the video game market they'll try something. Then again, Sony does the smartphone bit too and they have everything from mobile gaming to mobile cellular gaming....
