SOE unnamed MMOG that will be subscription-free

SOE has revealed that it is currently in development of an unnamed massively multiplayer online game that will be subscription-free. According to SOE president John Smedley, the new MMO is an effort to draw in users who have been turned off by the current MMO monthly subscription costs.
To fund game maintenance, SOE plans to sell in-game items and add-on levels. In this way, casual gamers can play the game at low cost, while hardcore players can opt to pay extra for a more in-depth experience. The game is not yet slated for a specific system, though rumors have it launched on the PlayStation 3.
