Supposedly ready to rival Xbox’s Haloo, Killzone is the Playstation 2 answer to gamers for a quality first person shooter video game. So is the hype going to live up to expectations? All indications point to yes. This first person shooter complete with 11 levels is made exclusively for the PS2 from the ground up. Built from scratch, brand new models, game engines, even music scores combine to provide a unique experience for the PS2. The environments are cool and include industrial areas, slums, parks, docklands, huge mountains, mangrove swamps, jungles, firebases and lowland plains.
Online playing is definitely available and should be a hit, how big the platform will be and what type of games and maps will be included still remains to be seen.
Gameplay remains linear, although you have the option of playing with four different characters which the levels will adjust to. Players include a spy, heavy weaponary, stealth, and assasin. You don't control anybody but yourself, however, you do operate with a team. Keeping the game linear permits the cinematics to roll fluently with gameplay.
