After twelve years and over 100 million units, Sony has confirmed that it has finally pulled the plug on production for the original PlayStation. Sony also announced plans for a backward compatibility mode for the PSP device that will allow players to download PlayStation games and play them on their PSP. You should fix the title, Sony does not stop producing PS2, sony stops producing the ORIGINAL Playstation (the PSOne) PS2 will stay here for a while, I'd reckon..

I guess thats ok about stopping production the the PS because they are now all breaking down on me. I keep buyng used 15 a piece or new 50 a piece just out of fun because my bros always on the PS2 so i use the PS when he's on it :P

I knew that they would stop making the PS1's. Although I did like the PS1 upgraded version/slim style. I bought mine awhile back and bought the LCD screen with it. It was very affordable. But the LCD screen for the PS2 is to expensive for my test and is overpowered by the size of the console. But hey RIP for the PS1.
