In all honesty...for $150 you aren't going to get anything spectacular. My thoughts are that go and pick up the best that money can buy in ATI. After NVidia released thier abizmal FX card they haven't recouped and it would be in my opinion that they have a ways to catch up to ATI. The lawn mower loud cooling fan in the FX card gave the company a ruthless reputation. It's a no wonder why microsoft went ATI with the 360.

hi,

i'm not looking to get my computer tricked out, all i'm looking for is a decent videocard. I'm leaning toward the Nvidia 5500fx. Is that a good videocard?

Re: [recoton] Videocard Discussion Radeon X1800 XT [In reply to] Can't Post

The new Radeon X1800 XT, which began shipping on November 3, ahead of schedule, features a radically new ultra-threaded 3D architecture and ATI’s revolutionary Avivo video and display technology platform, designed to unleash visual and performance possibilities that gamers until now could only dream about getting from a PC graphics processor.

The Radeon X1800 XT architecture gives competitive gamers and enthusiasts blistering performance in the most demanding, shader-intensive environments, an efficient new memory design and Avivo technologies for visual perfection and advanced video playback.
