Rome - Total War Review

Activision has produced a gem of a battle strategy game in Rome - Total War. Building on the recent movies featuring full out and HUGE battles, such as Lord of the Rings or Troy, etc, Activision made an effort to put together not only a similar product, but a quality one. Rome-Total War is a precednt setting strategy game featuring amazing details on over 10,000 plus characters during gameplaya. 2000 polys in every individual chracters are used, this enables such visible details as sword blows, etc. Every solider on the battle field has personable characteristics, and your tactics will also be influenced by the emotions of your armies. Being a strategy game, tactics pay off, the team with the most men won't necessarily win. In some sense Rome - Total War is RPG like. Controlling your generals, all of which have different emtions, or the 200 plus different unit types in total. But the battle elements aren't all this game has to offer. Provided your management skills are adequate, your settlements will grow and develop, and as you develop your infrastructure, the battlefields will adapt to show these new features. The result is a fully dynamic and interactive world. The aim of the game is to conquer, rule and manipulate the Roman Empire with the ultimate goal of being declared as the "Imperator" of Rome.
