That's an open ended question! What are you looking to do? No need to buy a good computer if all u need is email. Computers optimized for gaming can run a couple of thousands.

Dells are great! I also recommed a custom made...just go to a local shop and ask the for a quote on exactly this

atx case
power supply
motherboard
graphics card (any kind)
256 ddr memory or better
40-80 GB HD
Operating System (XP)
Pentium 4 or D

and that's the basics and they'll quote you on what they can do and have done for you. and and you can just keep your key board mouse and monitor and save on those. :)

I just bought the Rhesus from www.monkeyware.co.uk :
# CPU – Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40Ghz
# RAM – 2GB OCZ Low Latency XTC DDR2
# GFX – Geforce 8800 GTX 768Mb
# Motherboard – Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650
# HDD – Dual Western Digital 500GB SATA2
# Audio – Sound Blaster X-Fi Gamer 7.1
# DVD - 20x Dual Layer DVD-ReWriter

Got it for Quake Wars, Tabula Rasa and Bioshock
Absolutely fantastic machine, whats everyone else got?
