Nintendo DS Nintendogs - More than tamaguchi? Can't Post

Nintendo's Nintendogs marks a new way to enjoy the "dog days of summer." Available in 18 breeds, the groundbreaking puppy simulation is in stores now (think Tamguchi but on the DS).

Developed by Shigeru Miyamoto - legendary creator of gaming franchises such as Mario, Donkey Kong and Zelda - Nintendogs is one of the most innovative and technically advanced portable games ever developed. Capitalizing on Nintendo DS' microphone, touch screen and wireless multiplayer capabilities, as well as more realistic advanced 3D graphics, Nintendogs enables players to be virtual owner of one of 18 of the world's most popular dog breeds, including labradors, chihuahuas, and beagles.

Among Nintendogs unique features:

- 3D realistic graphics: All dogs are beautifully rendered in 3D, creating eye-opening graphics never before seen on the Nintendo DS. - Voice recognition technology: Teach your dog tricks by creating personalized voice commands using the built-in-microphone.
- Touch screen capability: Train your Nintendog to compete in obedience and agility trials with a simple touch of the Nintendo DS screen. Acquire and play with more than 100 items like tennis balls, flying discs and even clothing accessories.
- Advance AI system: Nintendogs' AI system realistically emulates the behaviour of dogs to the most minute detail. Take it for a walk, feed your dog, and even give him a bath.
- Local area gaming: Finding other Nintendo DS owners with Nintendogs is as easy as taking a walk with the game's innovative 'bark mode.' When in bark mode, Nintendo DS constantly probes a wireless network to find another Nintendo DS. The system will bark when contact is established, allowing one to connect with the other Nintendogs player.

Thx for the info on Nintendogs!

Of course Nin-dogs is more than a tamaguchi...or whatever its called. But the real question is whether DS owners are still into these types of games. I'm not.

Nintendo shouldn't have made 2 different versions. They're trying to turn it into the Pokemon (when Blue and Red only existed). Unfortunately, I'm expecting their plan to backfire.

Rememeber "Petz" for the PC? I expect Nintendogs to be very similar if not identical.

Well assuming the target market is kids and asians, haha (sorrY), then the game should do OK, but I doubt it will be a smash success of DS simply because it's not a game in itself but more of a simulator.

I would have to say that this game is more than tamagahci, but not by much. This game seems like like nothing more than a 3d update to the game "DOGZ" for the pc.
This game may be one of the best games on the ds because of the console's lack of games.
