Nintendo DS Lite North America?	Can't Post

Nintendo has officially revealed a redesigned Nintendo DS to release in Japan on March 2. Called the DS Lite, the new handheld will be a smaller version of the Nintendo DS.

Rumors began to fly earlier this month when Famitsu magazine speculated that a redesigned DS is in the near future. In a story we posted yesterday, Nintendo UK's David Yarnton refuted redesign rumors admitting that he had not received any information of a new DS system.

But Nintendo pulled a fast one, unveiling the DS Lite quietly on its Japanese website last night.

The DS Lite weighs in at 215g, compared to 275g of the original DS, and is about 42 percent smaller as a whole.

The DS Lite will release in Japan on March 2 for 16,800 yen (approximately $145). No word yet on a North American launch date. Will you pick it up if it comes to NA?
