A limited edition Game Boy Micro released in the US on December 4th; Nintendo will ship the Special 20th Anniversary Edition Game Boy Micro, releasing it to retail at the same $99.99 price tag as the standard units that have been available since September 2005.

The Special 20th Anniversary Edition Game Boy Micro is a repackaged version of the Famicom Edition Game Boy Micro that was released to celebrate Mario's 20th Anniversary in Japan. The unit is identical to the Japanese equivalent, is fashinoable featuring a metallic red body and a gold faceplate. It's identical to the Japanese version, right down to the roman numeral 1 in the upper left of the faceplate, mimicking the design of the Famicom controller. Pick up this classy handheld; remember all it adds is class, nothing more really.
