Battlefield 1942 PC Game Review

Ok so I'm two years late, but I finally picked up this title along with the expansion pack Desert Combat (reviewed later) and Vietnam. I have to say that 1942 was a fun piece to play single player and multi. The various maps do a great job of mixing things up when it comes to terrain and different WW2 scenarios. The weapons selection were awsome, however, it took my a while to figure out that you could fire mortars with the engineer.... My bad. Another plus is the ability to use vehicles. There are a few in the game, and all of them operate well gamplay wise, and are fun to drive. The Bradely or the tanks are cool and are bent on mass destruction. Graphic wise I was pleased, the game moved smoothly and the graphics were great. The environments don't explode if you shoot at them or blow them up with tanks, but you can live without that when you're only objective is to eliminate the enemy. I personally thought that all the maps were far to small to really make good use of the airborne units. All three Battlefield games have aerial components, but controlling them is difficult and flying fast in a tiny map is not only tough but silly as well. That's my only complaint. I still can pop in this game and enjoy it despite the fact it didin't take long to beat. Replayability is high, I would recommend this game.

Personally I think the add on of Desert Combat (based on weapons and such of the first Gulf War) makes this game a must have..... The concept of re-spawning is great.... Only problem I have is the airplanes and such, maps are too small to fly.
