EA displeased with XBox 360 numbers

EA is dissapointed with the number of Xbox 360 Microsoft has made available to the gaming public.
With EA's profits way down, the company seems to be blaming some of those losses on the fact that only 500,000 or so Xbox 360 units have made it into the hands of U.S. gamers. The publishing giant had made a big showing of support for the Xbox 360, and offered a wide launch lineup that included Madden NFL 06, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and NBA Live 06.
EA's CFO said, "we don't see [Microsoft] getting to the installed base numbers we had forecast," Jenson said.
Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter summed up EA's
situation to Reuter's by noting that "there are 5 million people who
really believe they are getting an Xbox 360...by February. Microsoft
has shipped 500,000 units, so 4.5 million people are doing nothing."
