Atari Signs Exclusive Deal Over Call of Duty Can't Post

Video game publisher Atari said it has signed an exclusive tie-up with the developers behind the most recent version of the hit war game franchise "Call of Duty." Atari said it will have global all-media publishing rights to future development from Spark Unlimited. Atari said the first joint project is planned for a holiday 2006 launch and will potentially be exploited for film and television as well.

Activision, publisher of "Call of Duty," announced a new version of the game for consoles, with development from internal studios Gray Matter and Treyarch. It was not immediately clear if Spark's new project is also a war game. The team that founded the studio previously made the "Medal of Honor" war game series.
